Occupying the street-level heart of The Newman, Brasserie Angelica was conceived as a vibrant, all-day social anchor that honours Fitzrovia’s rich tradition of community gathering and creative exchange. Designed to serve both international guests and the neighbourhood’s local residential fabric, the light-filled space balances a buzzy, communal energy with an atmosphere of refined ease.

Our design narrative masterfully marries Art Deco glamour with Scandinavian restraint and traditional Victorian architecture, ensuring the restaurant feels inherently grounded in its physical context. The bold, confident lines and a restrained monochrome palette pay homage to the graphic sensibility of political activist and bohemian queen, Nancy Cunard. Simultaneously, the articulated joinery, glazed screens and a deep focus on craftsmanship nod to pioneering furniture designer Gerald Summers, whose historic 1930s workshop was located on nearby Charlotte Street. Rather than relying on overt thematic styling, the interiors use a system of subtle interpretation to weave local history into modern functionality. From the transparency of the street-facing terrace to the bespoke detailing within, Brasserie Angelica avoids the formulas of a conventional hotel dining room – offering instead a timeless, tactile and deeply authored environment that moves seamlessly from morning breakfast to late-night supper.
